Feminism Turned Mom into Monster | Liberty RoundTable

My mom fell for the whole feminist shit agenda, and now my family and I are paying the price?

?

The baby boomer generation has been living off the fumes of an America that is now gone, and is crumbling into a demoralized modern Babylon.

Nobody, especially older baby boomers give a damn about anything. I see so many older males in their late 50?s,60?s and early 70?s paying more attention to Viargra and more worried about how many rounds of golf they are able to get in?.rather than helping the up and coming generation. It?s all about ME ME ME.

For example, my parents were married 30+ years. I had a nice family, two older brothers and one older sister. I was the baby in the family . I?m currently 21. On New Years day, 2008. my mother left my father. I was only 16 years old at the time and was being suspended from the Catholic high school I was attending. (I could write a whole article on the Catholic school system and the hypocrisy , but I?ll save that for another day)

Only six months after my parents divorce, my mother found a man named John McGrath on Match.Com?.now putting the story aside for a moment let me say this, Match.Com and all of these other dating sites are enabling people to easily dump their once lifetime partners, and simply shop on the web for a new piece of meat.

So to put it in simple terms? My mother who is now 61, dumped my father after 31 years of marriage, found a new husband on match.com and moved in with this man. My mother would not let my father keep the family home. We had an acre of land, a 2-story home and a really nice house.

My father paid every bill and even commuted an hour and one half to Cleveland, OH everyday from where we lived, every day because he could not find his kind of work in the area that we lived in which is economically devastated. My father commuted and paid the bills on time and never cheated once on my mother?

All my mother had to do was buy groceries?and help somewhat with my Catholic high school tuition?(which was extremely expensive, but they are doing it for God?right! no not really, and the high school treated you like garbage if you did not play football)

Anyways what I am trying to say is that modern day women, especially American women have been brainwashed by this sick, demented culture. TV channels such as Lifetime highly contribute to this sick Illuminati agenda being shoved down our throats every day.

My mom , I love her and would always help her?but I feel betrayed because she fell for this manipulated culture , being molded into our everyday lives just because a few wealthy degenerative families can keep their monopoly on our credit creation. Henry I had a very nice house, lots of nice land, now I am living in a motel with my father in the middle of the country out in North East Ohio.

The divorce economically devastated my family, but not my mother. She has her new husband (meal-ticket) and is living in his house and working for him. She just purchased a new car , but the car is registered in her husband?s name. So my mother left my dad, my family and is now helping a stranger she did not even know 5 years ago with his car-payments and mortgage. I contribute all of this to the sick demented New World Order .

Henry, as I said my father was a caring man and he registered my old house in both his name and my mothers?Even though he made all the house payments towards the marriage. But once the divorce came, my mother demanded that my father buy her out, and give her half of what the house is worth, or sell it and give her half?

She didn?t even have the compassion to let my father keep that house and let my siblings and I to always have a place to call home?nope but she has her new house. My mother is basically with a dude she didn?t even know 5 years ago that she met on match.com, let my boyhood home go in foreclosure and has ultimately changed the course of my life.

All of my friends, especially close friends have parents that stuck it out and stayed together because they knew that getting divorced would have devastated their children?s future both mentally and economically. For instance my best friend Erick, has two loving parents that supported him and through their moral decisions.

Erick is now able to go to college and have a positive future?in my case?my mother threw away any chance of me going to college, it was more important to her to dump my dad after 31 years of marriage and say to herself ,?YOU ARE TOO CONTROLLING, I AM NO LONGER DEALING WITH YOUR BEHAVIOR?. Meaning my father was a old-fashioned man who wasn?t going to have a wife who walked all over him while he paid every single bill to support his family.

My mother was always seeking attention and probably what caused her inflated ego was the manipulated culture she saw on TV,RADIO etc? TV is constantly degrading men and making them look like complete foots, as if they never grew up. For instance the show called Ray Ramono is a great example to show just how stupid and emasculated men are being portrayed as on TV?..Henry I would love to keep writing more about my parents divorce but there is just so much to say that I simply cannot put it all into words. I will make a video for you tommorow and post it on youtube.

In conclusion though Henry, young kids, especially people in their 20?s now are being manipulated by this horrific infiltration by the NWO, mostly by their subversion through entertainment and media.

My mom fell for the whole feminist shit agenda, and now my family and I are paying the price?and as for college?forget college, I have the whole internet in my hands with amazing knowledge and articles, in which I can educate my self, rather than pay a over-paid liberal professor a exorbitant salary for spouting the new world order talking points.

Key to the Game: A Look Back at the Key Play from UCLA vs. Washington State

The seventh installment in a series looking at the key play from each UCLA Pac-12 game from the 2012 season. This week looks at the Bruins' 44-36 victory over the Washington State Cougars.

UCLA followed their 66-10 win over Arizona with a first half against Washington State ending with a 37-7 UCLA lead.

After that enjoyable first half, this was the longest game of the year. Having to sit through and watch the second half was total agony. The was no explanation for what happened on either side of the ball in the late third and entire fourth quarter.

The Washington State Cougars came into the game a complete mess of a team. Their best player had just been kicked off the team earlier in the week, their coach Mike Leach was publicly calling out his upperclassmen for being embarrassing to the program and they were also just 2-7 overall and 0-6 in the Pac-12.

Despite being a tough place to play and being very cold and being played unusually late, UCLA was big favorites in this game, having a 7-2 (4-2) record and riding a 4-game winning streak.

Setup:

UCLA scored to go up 44-14 at the 4 minute mark on a short touchdown run by Jordon James. From there, the game completely unraveled. Washington State, who had done next to nothing on offense the whole game, scored quickly after back-to-back 30-yard gains. The Cougars ended the drive with a 4-yard TD pass to make it 44-21. At that point, the game is still comfortable. There is less than a quarter for a team with a mostly ineffective offense to score 3 times.

All the UCLA offense needed to do was get a couple of first downs and the game is actually over. Run three or four minutes off the clock. After a sack, a stuffed run and a draw, UCLA lost a yard and used 2 minutes of clock. After one of Jeff Locke's worst punts of the year, the Bruins defense needed a stop. Up to the task, the Bruins defense forced a three-and-out in :52 seconds and UCLA got the ball back with 12:51 to go in the game and a 44-21 lead.

On the first play of the drive, Jordon James gained 11 on a stretch to give UCLA a first down. The offense managed to completely cancel this out by losing 13 yards on the next two plays, a stuffed run and another sack where Brett Hundley held the ball for 7 seconds without a throw. A 20-yard gain by Joseph Fauria on 3rd-down gave Jeff Locke a chance to redeem himself with a 57-yard punt that was downed at the 4-yard line.

On the Cougars' next drive they tried so hard to give UCLA the game, but the penalty bug emerged once more. A substitution infraction (#10 on the game) on a 4th and 5 gave Wazzu a first down and a 15-yard personal foul (#11 on the game) on Stan McKay gave them another after a 31-yard pass. To be fair, McKay's penalty was total BS, he got pushed into a defender after the whistle and the SPTRs only saw the incidental contact by Stan. The Cougars would score a few plays later to make the game 44-28 with 6:25 left.

It is damn near impossible to blow a 16-point lead in 6 minutes. The only way it can happen is with a turnover or unexpected play. Both happened on the ensuing kickoff. Kenny Walker catches the kick, runs 17 yards and gets his head sandwiched between two defenders. He fumbles and Washington State recovers on the UCLA 27-yard line.

A 1-yard completion on first down set up a 2nd and 9 from the UCLA 26 with 6:01 remaining. A quick score here and a 2-point conversion makes a game that was 44-14 with 1:30 left in the 3rd quarter a one possession game with more than 5 minutes left.

Positioning and Execution:

(The play here is at 11:06. Thanks to Aaron Aloysius for uploading this.)

Washington State lines up in a 4 wide receiver set out of Shotgun on this play. The single running back is offset to Halliday's left side.

OL vs. Pass Rushers:

The alignment of both the offensive and defensive line here are pretty normal. Washington State has slightly larger splits than a normal offensive line, but that has always been a trademark of Leach's offense. It is part of the reason why the lineman at Texas Tech used to be so massive, so that those splits could be closed by length easily.

UCLA counters this with, from left to right, Jordan Zumwalt at OLB outside-eye of the right tackle, Datone Jones head-up with the right guard, Cassius Marsh in the A-gap between the left guard and center, and Anthony Barr standing up outside of the left tackle.

As a pre-snap read, it looks like there is no blitz threat for UCLA. They are just going to try to get pressure with 4 rushers against 5 lineman, something they'd been successful at all game.

Receivers/QB vs. Coverage:

As I said before, Washington State lines up with 4 wideouts on this play. A single receiver is at the bottom of the screen, matched up with Aaron Hester. Hester is in man-coverage on an island on this play. This is very interesting and says a great deal about the level of trust Coach Mora, Coach Martin and Coach Spanos had in Hester as a cover corner. If he gets beat on this play over the top, there is no immediate safety help because of where Abbott is.

Andrew Abbott is the safety to the bottom of the screen. Pre-snap, he moves from 8-10 yards directly behind Barr to inside of the hashmarks, shading to the trips side. As I said, this isolates Hester on the flanker to the bottom of the screen.

Eric Kendricks is the only real linebacker here, as this is a Dime formation by UCLA, even if the Nickel Linebacker is on the field. Kendricks is lined up even without the running back, showing that he is probably responsible for the back out of the backfield or a potential QB draw.

On the other side of the formation, WSU lines up in trips. UCLA complements this with Sheldon Price matched up on the widest man, giving a 6-8 yard cushion. That's normal depth against trips because the DBs inside of him should be able to take care of any quick screen threat.

The middle wideout is covered by Anthony Jefferson, the only defensive back from this play still on the Bruins in 2013. He has a 4-yard cushion or so, with inside leverage.

The slot receiver is matched up with Stan McKay, who is in the middle of the field, just about 3 yards behind and 3 yards outside of Zumwalt.

The safety to the Trips side is Tevin McDonald, who lines up on the right hashmarks in between the slot receiver and the middle receiver. His depth on this play is a few yards deeper than Abbott on the left side because he was not as effective as years past as a deep cover man in 2012. Best way to compensate for any struggles is to give yourself a couple of yards to make reads. As a baseball analogy, but one that applies to coverage as well, it is easier to come forward on a ball than to go back for it.

I don't claim to be fully aware of the way D1 quarterbacks read defenses, but if I were Connor Halliday, I would assume that UCLA is running a Cover 2 with Man underneath. It could also be Cover 3 with how deep Price is playing

Analysis of Action during the play:

OL vs. Pass Rushers:

Jordan Zumwalt:

Contrary to the last time I broke down a defensive play where Zumwalt was rushing, he does not just try to speed rush past the tackle on this play. After the snap, he gets a good jump and tries to inside rush the right tackle. The tackle adjusts to the inside too much and Jordan knocks the tackle down, plugging up a passing lane for Halliday, as well as taking another offensive lineman out of the play. I'll touch on that when I get to Marsh. Also, by taking an inside route, Zumwalt allows for Halliday to scramble to his right out of the pocket. That isn't necessarily a good or bad thing, but I think that the stunt on this play was based on JZ staying outside.

Datone Jones:

Datone was a rock solid player for the majority of the year, and takes a supporting role on this rush. He gets a great jump off the ball and shoots into the A-gap with ease. This causes the uncovered center to decide almost instantly to help with Jones instead of Marsh, leaving Marsh, Zumwalt and Barr all in 1-on-1 match-ups with less talented lineman. Because the center had to decide so quickly, he is unable to help or recognize what happens next.

Cassius Marsh:

Marsh has the most interesting rush on this play. He is stunting to the opposite side. If this weren't such a quick rollout by Halliday, I think Marsh would be going through that B gap that the guard blocking Datone had to abandon. Because Zumwalt pancakes the right tackle, there would have been nowhere for the QB to go if he stayed in the pocket. Marsh shows some pretty strong athleticism by going around Zumwalt and forcing pressure on the QB to rush into making a decision. If you pause the video right before the stunt starts, you can see that Marsh actually covers as much ground as Barr on this play. Pretty impressive.

Anthony Barr:

Watching Barr on this play is an example of the impact he had on QBs at this point in the season. He absolutely blows by the LT at the snap, who gets away with a slight hold. Halliday seems to be aware of this instantly and takes advantage of the rollout he is given to the right side.

Receivers vs. Coverage:

I'm going to try something new here and go through the routes by likelihood of a completion given the coverage and the action on the play.

1. Inside slot receiver vs. McKay:

The route here is just a quick out. McKay had inside position and the throw is there. If you pause the video at 11:10, you can see how the opportunity for a first down is there. It isn't going to be a big play, but it's a pass that is much safer than the decision eventually made. The QB has a lane to throw to, no pass rushers in his face yet, and a better than average shot at a completion. By waiting, Halliday takes this guy out of the play because McKay closes enough ground that a rocket pass is going to get picked or tipped and a touch pass becomes more difficult, though still doable.

2. Middle slot receiver vs. Jefferson/Price:

The route here ends up being a 10 yard out over the top of the inside slot's route. Anthony Jefferson has good position to start with here, but then for some reason turns to the inside while the receiver breaks outside. The opportunity here for Halliday can be seen at around 11:11. He clearly doesn't see it though, and it would have been a tough throw. Needing to be a touch pass with enough gas to not give Price time to break up on the ball.

3. Right flanker vs. Hester:

The route here is a 5-yard inside route. To be honest, there is no chance that Halliday would be able to throw to this receiver. The only opening is right after he starts scrambling right where Hester gives up ground. Halliday would have had to throw across his body late over the middle, hope that Kendricks keeps following the RB out of the backfield and eat a huge hit by Zumwalt.

4. Running Back vs. Kendricks:

The route here is just a flare to the left side of the field past Barr. Again, there is no opportunity for this to happen with the throw being realistic. The only way he can throw it is lollipopping a pass over Barr's unblocked 6'5" frame and giant arms and hoping that Kendricks doesn't close on the play and destroy the RB or make a play on the ball.

5. Left flanker vs. McDonald/Abbott:

The route here is a deep post that ends up going to the middle of the field. Surprisingly, this is the place where the ball ends up being thrown. From the replay, it looks like Halliday's first read is the out patterns to the right of the play. He doesn't pull the trigger on either one for some reason. As he is scrambling to his right, his eyes seems to lock on the flanker. The wideout makes a good move and has okay position on McDonald. Tevin turns his hips quickly enough back to the inside that there is not a huge threat of him being beat. The idea of throwing to that route by itself is a risky, but not terrible decision.

What makes it a terrible decision is not realizing that the other safety was in the middle of the field at the snap, in a coverage that was clearly either a 2-deep look or 3-deep look. The QB knew that there was no receiver running a deep route to the left side of the play. He also knew that the safety was inside of the left hashmarks at the snap. Where did he think Andrew Abbott was going to be?

Abbott undercuts the route, makes a great catch and intercepts the ball in the endzone. Huge play by the senior safety and it essentially clinches a win.

Aftermath:

UCLA ran another 2:30 off the clock after the interception and closed out the game. Washington State would never really threaten again, despite a last minute touchdown and 2-point conversion to make it a 8 point victory at 44-36.

At the time, this game struck me as one where UCLA played as if they wanted the game to end instead of playing to end the game.

There were a crazy number of weird things that happened in this game. 2 blocked punts and 2 blocked field goals. 2 fumbles lost by each team and an interception by both quarterbacks. Johnathan Franklin only averaged 3.5 yards per carry. Brett Hundley completed 18 out of 21 passes, but the offense went 3-11 on 3rd down and only gained 334 yards. Washington State had 9 first downs given by penalties. It was just an odd evening.

Regardless of any oddities, that was not the way UCLA wanted to end a game going into the biggest game of the season against Southern Cal. With UCLA moving to 8 wins, the game against the Trojans would decide the Pac-12 South Champion.

London riots: Government's response mauled

London riots: Government's response mauled

THE Government has been accused of "insulting" the victims of the 2011 summer riots in English cities by declining to respond to many of the recommendations of a panel it commissioned to look into communities' experience of the unrest.

Labour MP David Lammy, in whose Tottenham constituency the riots began, accused ministers of burying their formal response to the report of the Riots, Communities and Victims Panel by releasing it without fanfare last month.

There was no ministerial statement and no separate press release to mark the publication of the response - which was attached to a Communities and Local Government Department release on July 12 detailing new guidance for firefighters in riot situations - and as a consequence media coverage was almost non-existent.

Even one member of the panel - which spent six months visiting cities affected by the riots to talk to victims and produced a report with 63 recommendations in March 2012 - said he was unaware that the Government's response had been published.

Rather than responding to each of the panel's recommendations in detail, the 30-page document sets out the action taken by the Government to deal with the criminals involved in vandalism and looting, restore business and community confidence, tackle the deep-rooted social issues underlying the unrest and improve relations between the police and the public Mr Lammy told BBC Radio 4's World This Weekend: "We had four days of rioting, taxpayers' money was spent on this victims and communities inquiry, and the Government slipped this out the day before recess with no press release at all.

"It deserved a ministerial statement. It deserved a serious discussion in the House of Commons.

"When you look at the report and see that 39 of the recommendations, out of 63, have not even been addressed - the Government hasn't even had the decency to reject them - I have to say this is an insult to the five people who lost their lives, it's an insult to the many, many ordinary people who lost their shops, who lost their homes, who lost their buildings.

"The public saw four days of burning in cities as far afield as Birmingham and Manchester and London and the Government has not been prepared to explain why it is that it's not prepared to accept the recommendations of its own inquiry.

"It is totally, totally unacceptable and frankly unprecedented in this country."

Communities minister Don Foster rejected suggestions that the Government had attempted to "bury" its report.

"There have been a large number of different activities that we have done," he told the programme.

"This is just one part of the package. Surely what ultimately matters is... what we are actually doing, rather than getting publicity for it."

U.S. seeks tighter control over Apple in e-book case

By Jonathan Stempel

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Apple Inc is headed for a showdown with the U.S. government and dozens of states, which on Friday urged that tough new restrictions be imposed on the company for illegally conspiring to raise e-book prices.

The changes proposed by the U.S. Department of Justice and 33 U.S. states and territories are designed to stop Apple from committing further antitrust violations after U.S. District Judge Denise Cote said on July 10 Apple had a "central role" in a conspiracy with five major publishers to raise e-book prices.

But the proposed changes extend beyond e-books, potentially limiting Apple's ability to negotiate for such content as movies, music and TV shows, and increasing regulatory oversight of other business areas such as the company' App Store.

In a court filing, Apple called the proposed injunction a "draconian and punitive intrusion" into its business that would hurt consumers and competition, and was "wildly out of proportion" to the harm it was meant to address.

"The resulting cost of this relief - not only in dollars but also lost opportunities for American businesses and consumers - would be vast," it said.

Federal and state regulators disagreed.

"Under the department's proposed order, Apple's illegal conduct will cease, and Apple and its senior executives will be prevented from conspiring to thwart competition," said Bill Baer, head of the Justice Department's antitrust division.

Cote will weigh the arguments at an August 9 hearing in her Manhattan courtroom. A damages trial might follow.

Despite Apple's protests, analysts have said the bigger issue for the Cupertino, California-based company in this case might be damage to its reputation, not financial harm.

Amazon.com Inc commands about 65 percent of the U.S. e-books market, while Apple's share has been estimated in the single digits.

LIMITS ON DEAL-MAKING

The governments' plan, which needs court approval, would require that Apple end its contracts with the five publishers and be banned for five years from entering contracts that would effectively raise prices of e-books sold by rivals.

The publishers are Lagardere SCA's Hachette Book Group Inc, News Corp's HarperCollins Publishers LLC, Pearson Plc's Penguin Group (USA) Inc, CBS Corp's Simon & Schuster Inc and Verlagsgruppe Georg von Holtzbrinck GmbH's Macmillan. All settled with U.S. regulators.

Apple would also be unable to cut deals with providers of movies, music and TV programs for its iPad tablets and iPhones that would likely increase the prices at which rivals might sell such content.

Officials also want to make it easier for consumers to compare e-book prices by requiring Apple for two years to let Amazon, Barnes & Noble Inc and other rivals provide links to their own stores within their iPad and iPhone apps.

Industry experts said the proposal, if adopted, could solidify Amazon's dominance in the e-books market.

"Why isn't the DOJ forcing Amazon to play fairly? This is the question the publishing industry wants answered," said Mark Coker, founder of Smashwords, an e-book publisher and distributor that works with Apple, Barnes & Noble and other companies. "Apple brought much-needed competition to the e-book market and now the government is trying to undermine them."

Albert Greco, a book-industry expert at Fordham University's business school, said the proposal "does not address the long term issue of book pricing in the United States."

The plan also requires Apple to hire a full-time internal antitrust compliance officer, and use a court-appointed external monitor to ensure its compliance with the proposed final judgment for 10 years.

Government officials said the changes would permit Apple to compete "vigorously and lawfully" in the e-books market.

Apple countered that the changes seek unnecessary relief for harm already remedied under the settlements with the publishers. It urged Cote to reject the injunction entirely or approve a "narrower and more modest" alternative.

'APPLE SEIZED THE MOMENT'

Federal and state officials accused Apple of conspiring with the publishers in late 2009 and early 2010, as the iPad was being launched.

They said the conspiracy caused some e-book prices to rise to $12.99 or $14.99 from the $9.99 that Amazon charged.

Evidence damaging Apple's case included emails from Steve Jobs, its late chief executive, that the officials said reflected a desire to boost prices.

"Taking advantage of the publisher defendants' fear of and frustration over Amazon's pricing," Cote concluded, "Apple seized the moment and brilliantly played its hand."

In their settlements, the publishers agreed to pay more than $166 million for consumers' benefit. None admitted wrongdoing.

The case is U.S. v. Apple Inc et al, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, No. 12-02826.

Alaska Oil Tax Referendum Headed for Tight Vote in 2014

Reuters

ANCHORAGE, Aug 2 (Reuters) - Activists hoping to overturn a sweeping tax break for Alaska oil producers have their work cut out for them, even after getting confirmation that they secured enough voter backing to put a referendum on the ballot next year.

The referendum seeks to void a law that rolls back state oil taxes.

Polls show there is no clear majority either in favor of or against the tax cut signed into law in May, as both sides gather funds for a political battle that goes to the heart of both the state's key industry and its identity.

State officials confirmed on Friday that 37,644 qualified signatures from registered voters were gathered in support of the referendum, well over the threshold of 30,169 needed to qualify for the 2014 primary-election ballot.

A formal announcement on ballot qualification is not due until later this month, said Gail Fenuniai, director of the Division of Elections. More than 51,000 petition signatures, gathered in about 10 weeks, were submitted.

The new law capped oil taxes at 35 percent, though most producers will pay even less through a series of credits. It replaces a regime that boosts rates as oil prices rise, to a limit of 75 percent, which the governor and other industry supporters say discouraged Alaska oil production.

Referendum supporters say the tax cut is a no-strings-attached giveaway that will cost the state $4.5 billion over the next five years.

U.S. judge denies class certification sought by women suing Wal-Mart

By Casey Sullivan and Dan Levine

(Reuters) - In another setback for women suing Wal-Mart, a U.S. judge in San Francisco on Friday rejected an attempt to bring reformulated sex discrimination claims against the company as a class action.

U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer denied a motion for class certification brought by plaintiffs seeking to represent 150,000 women in Wal-Mart's California offices who alleged the world's largest retailer denied them pay raises and promotions because of their gender.

The claims were filed as a reformulated lawsuit after the U.S. Supreme Court threw out a larger class-action sex discrimination against Wal-Mart Stores Inc in 2011 that claimed female employees at 3,400 Walmart stores nationwide were underpaid and given fewer promotions.

The California lawsuit was part of a broader strategy by women Wal-Mart workers to bring more narrowly tailored class actions in an attempt to seek damages, targeting Wal-Mart's employment practices in regions throughout the country.

Instead of relying on nationwide statistical patterns and anecdotal evidence provided by plaintiffs, the California lawsuit had alleged specific discriminatory statements made by the district and regional managers that have decision-making authority over pay and promotions.

Breyer said in his ruling that the women could not bring their allegations as a class action because they had not established that their claims of the company's employment practice were linked to a class-wide policy.

But he said: "This order does not consider whether plaintiffs themselves were victims of discrimination as alleged in their complaint; those individual claims shall proceed in this litigation."

Still, Breyer took issue with some of the merits of the plaintiffs case. For one, he said that the women did not identify statistically significant disparities in pay and promotion decisions throughout the California regions at issue.

Breyer also noted that the women said they had anecdotes reflecting stereotyped views expressed by a number of regional managers, but only offered evidence of bias exhibited by about five percent of the top level management that they say guided lower-level decisions.

"Though plaintiffs succeeded in illustrating attitudes of gender bias held by managers at Wal-Mart, they failed to marshal significant proof that intentional discrimination was a general policy affecting the entire class," Breyer said.

A Wal-Mart spokesman said in a statement that the company has had a strong policy against discrimination in place for many years, and that the allegations from the plaintiffs were not representative of the positive experiences of other women working at Wal-Mart.

"Judge Breyer gave the plaintiffs every opportunity to offer any evidence they wanted, and their evidence comes up short," said Theodore Boutrous, a lawyer representing Wal-Mart. "We are gratified."

Randy Renick, a lawyer for the plaintiffs, said in a statement that plaintiffs were "deeply disappointed" with the court's decision and intended to appeal the ruling.

"While this court decision does not in any way negate the merits of the pay and promotion discrimination case against Wal-Mart, it does create yet another hurdle for these women to at long last have their day in court," he said.

Twitter updates Windows 8 app with multiple account access

DNP Twitter update for Windows 8

While the latest Twitter update for Windows 8 doesn't feature a major overhaul, it adds a handful of useful functions to the app. Perhaps the most notable addition is multiple account sign-in that gives you power to easily juggle several Twitter personas. Another nice new feature is the ability to pin users' accounts and lists to your home screen, so you can follow them closely. Seeing as you can now also view lists on profiles, the list you pin doesn't even have to be yours. This makes it easy to discover new users you might want to follow... unless having Twitter feeds in plain sight makes you feel even more alone.

How to Find Out What Electricity Rates You Pay - Energy Efficiency ...

You have just moved into a home and want to know what to expect to pay, or you have lived in one place for a while but you never really understood why you're paying the energy company this much. For many people, these situations sound familiar! If this describes you, don't worry ? the process of figuring out what electricity rates you pay is actually relatively simple. It's easiest if you have already received a bill from the electricity company, but if not, don't despair. There are some neat techniques you can use to find out what you're paying and why.

Ask The Previous Tenant Or Landlord

If you are just moving in and you aren't sure who your supplier is, ask the letting agent, previous tenant, or landlord. If the previous tenants have already left and you can't ask, but they let the energy company know that you moved in, you should receive a letter soon that is addressed to the occupants of the household. This letter will inform you about the current tariff ? probably a standard tariff ? and your options for service.

Call To Find Out Who Your Supplier Is

You may not receive a letter immediately after moving in. You can also find out your regional electricity distribution number, which will be a 0845, 0870, or 01752 (in South Wales only) number. Provide details about your address and they should be able to tell you who your supplier is. Then, you can easily get in touch with that supplier to let them know that you have moved into this home, take a meter reading, and get onto a better tariff as soon as possible. You might want to do this if you're worried about spending a lot in the first month. Most suppliers will put new residents on the standard tariff unless they request another.

Look At Your Previous Bills, If You Have Lived There For A While

If you have been living in your home for a while, you probably know who your supplier is, but you might not be sure what your rates are. If this applies to you, look at your previous bills. They should tell you your supplier, the tariff name, and the details on the per-unit pricing of this tariff. If there are any tricky calculations like peak and off-peak energy, the bill should perform it for you and show you why you arrive at the final total. There may also be standing charges, and the bill should separate them from the actual unit price for electricity so you can compare each aspect of the bill fairly.

Compare This Price To Other Suppliers

The easiest way to look at your current energy prices and switch to a better plan is by using an online rate comparison calculator. These are found on utility switch sites, which provide you with an overview of available tariffs and a breakdown of how much each will cost based on your energy usage. This means you can get a personalised quote so you don't need to estimate or guess that you'll save money before switching. You can also enter your details into individual suppliers' sites, as many have calculators to do the same thing, but this takes a lot more work unless you know for sure that you want to stay with one supplier.

Look Up The Supplier's Published Rates

Each supplier is obligated by Ofgem to publish its rates. You should be able to look on their website or call to find out their rates. Most suppliers have a table or chart that shows the rates they charge per unit in various areas including or excluding VAT and standing charges. The rates depend on your exact location, so a Londoner will usually pay a different amount than someone in Manchester or Cardiff would, for instance. Rates may differ based on the tariff you're on ? for instance, a tariff might guarantee rates that are a certain percentage lower than the standard rates for electricity.

Finding out what electricity rates you pay is a great idea so you can fairly compare new suppliers and tariffs to your existing plan. If you have just moved in, chances are good that your tariff will not be the most financially sound one, so you need to take action to find a cheap, reliable tariff that suits your needs.

Dust Storm off Coast of Africa could affect US southeast coast

A huge dust storm off the coast of Africa could make it all the way to the coast of the southeastern United States. ?This Saharan Dust storm is visible on satellite. ?At first glance, this might look like a big rain storm or tropical system moving off the coast of Africa. ?This is actually a huge dust storm carrying sand and mineral dust particles in the air out into the Atlantic Ocean.

This is something we want to watch for a couple of reasons. ?Often, these storm help to suppress tropical development as it travels across the ocean. ?Many times, particles act as a "condensation nucleii" to help form a raindrop. ?But when there are a lot of particles, that moisture spreads out to attach to many particles rather than just a few. ?Since the moisture is spread out, it suppresses rain from developing. ?This could hinder tropical systems from developing as the dust storms travels to the east.

Another reason we need to watch is because this dust could make it to the SE coast of the United States. ?Many time, Saharan dust will make it to the coast of Florida. ?If this happens over the next week or so, sunrises in Florida will appear reddish as the rays of light travel through the dust. ?It could also hinder rain development in Florida depending on how thick the dust is. ?It is too early to tell if this dust would have any affect on Georgia. ?Right now, the forecast models take this dust layer well to the south.

Something interesing to watch in the immediate future! ?NASA has a special project studying Saharan Dust and the effect on tropical systems. ?Looks like they have a good one to study this year!
